Our Eastbourne Nursery Festivities

Our nursery children at Langney Primary Academy enjoyed a series of festive activities, just before the New Year, bringing families together and adding plenty of excitement as Term 2 came to a close!
Bright Sparks Nursery is Langney Primary Academy’s early years provision for children aged 2 to 5, giving younger learners a gentle introduction to school routines within a familiar and caring setting.
Parents and carers were invited into school for a cheerful Christmas singing session, where the children proudly sang songs they had been practising, including Jingle Bells and We Wish You a Merry Christmas. Families then stayed to enjoy mince pies and time with their children and practitioners, peeking through learning books and celebrating the special moments that had shaped the term.
The nursery also welcomed Christmas elves from the East Sussex School of Circus Arts, who spent time playing games with the children and sang Christmas songs and showed them their juggling skills! The elves’ visit was a highlight for many children, who had been eagerly anticipating the chance to join in with the festive fun.
The festivities reflect our commitment to building on our children’s communication, confidence and early social skills. These experiences support Bright Sparks Nursery’s ongoing focus on offering varied opportunities that help children explore, interact and develop secure early foundations.
Abi Talbot, Nursery Manager of Bright Sparks Nursery, said:
“Christmas is always a special time for our nursery children and it was lovely to see how much they grew in confidence throughout the celebrations. The singing and the games with the elves gave the children space to follow their interests and express themselves. Moments like these show how quickly children develop when they feel supported and are free to explore their learning through play, which is something we value deeply at Bright Sparks.”
Benjamin Bowles, Headteacher at Langney Primary Academy, said:
“Our early years team create so many enriching opportunities for our youngest children to enjoy being part of the school community, and these festive activities were a great example of that. We love to celebrate this! It was wonderful to welcome families in and see the children so engaged. Experiences like this help lay important foundations for learning and set the tone for the curiosity and confidence we want to nurture as our nursery children move through our school.”
